Flat in Stockholm, Sweden

I live on the 4th floor in a house built 1988 facing a park in Södermalm, one of the islands Stockholm is built on. Although my flat is central located the surroundings are green and without traffic.

My 68 square meters apartment is neat and welcoming with its open kitchen and living area. It’s not very large but nice and comfortable, and suitable for up to 2 adults and 1 chlld. The kitchen is fully equipped with place for 4 persons. In the bedroom there are two 80 cm beds put together making a 160 cm double bed. A tiny extra room has one 70-cm bed but no window. There’s free access to high speed wireless internet. The newly renovated wc is equipped with shower, washing machine & laundry dryer. The balcony is facing northwest towards the park and a good place for afternoon coffee and dinner in the sun. I also have nice and helpful neighbors.

It’s very close to a big grocery, shopping, buses, metro and local trains.

Our Neighbourhood

The hip Södermalm is a green and charming part of central Stockholm with buildings from 5 centuries, many restaurants and cafés and a lively street life in the evenings. From my place there’s 3 minutes to several groceries and close to a food hall and shopping streets. You can walk through the whole city in an hour. There’s also a few minutes to buses, metro and local trains.

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, and known as the city on the water. It's situated on several islands between the big lake of Mälaren and the Baltic sea. The town offers nice walks along the quays and in the parks. The water is clean and you will see people fishing and even swimming from the cliffs and shores. “Gamla Stan” is the big medieval town of Stockholm with the royal castle. The archipelago of Stockholm iwith its thousands of big and small islands is famous.

About Our Family

My name is Hans. I am a relaxed and easy going retired journalist and live by myselt since my wife died in cancer some years ago. We made 5 exchanges 2000–2012, and now I want do start again. Nowadays I travel alone or together with my new friend, Anita, who is a retired teacher. We are open to change flats anytime of the year. We like to visit big as well as small cities in Europe, and enjoy good food, music and museums. Perhaps my daughter Jennie (journalist) who is single, perhaps would like to visit for a couple of days during the stay.
