House in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria
We (2 adults + 2 kids *2005/*2008) live in a semi-detached house in a small town 16 km north of the City of Salzburg with space for 5-6 persons. The house is in a family-friendly residential area: private street, small garden, several supermarkets in walking distance, train station nearby, frequent suburban train connection to Salzburg.
Our house offers:
- small garden with both sunny spots and shady trees, terrace, fire pit, hammock, swing chair ...
- car port
- cellar: infrared cabin, home cinema with big screen, darts
- 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
- friendly neighbours
Our Town:
Oberndorf bei Salzburg, origin of the Christmas Charol "Silent Night, Holy Night"
- Silent Night Chapel & museum
- only a few meters from the German border (short walk across the bridge to the medieval town Laufen - one leg in Austria, one leg in Germany);
- just around the corner (free of charge): public football court, basketball court, 2 beach volleyball courts, table tennis
There are many things to do and to see almost "around the corner":
- High-alpine experiences in Austria and Bavaria - on foot, by car and/or cable car
- Impressive waterfalls, gorges, (ice) caves, the oldest salt mines in the world; we explored many waterfalls and gorges during Corona times; see our "Bucket List": https://muttis-blog.net/klammen-und-wasserfaelle-spektakulaere-ausfluege-mit-kind-in-salzburg/
- Various medieval towns and castles
- Numerous lakes with drinking water quality for swimming and cooling down after a hot day (the nearest one is only 5 km away, free entrance)
- UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Salzburg (16 km) and Hallstatt (100 km); European Capital of Culture 2024 Bad Ischl (75 km)
- The City of Salzburg offers a rich historical and cultural programme (incl. the Salzburg Festival in summer)
We will provide a rich selection of suggestions including insider tips off the beaten track.

ES316305Everything has gone as planned. His house was as seen in Intervac. It is a very quiet and well-connected city. Our house was left in perfect condition and as we had agreed.
