Spacious, bright and quiet apartment with patio, close to Vienna Woods yet within easy reach of city centre
Vienna has been voted one of the most liveable cities in the world - justifiably so. We particularly appreciate the location of our apartment, offering the best of both worlds: Set within a quiet and green neigbourhood, it is in walking distance to the "Wienerwald" (Vienna Woods) with its many hiking routes and scenic views. At the same time, Vienna city centre is only a 20 minutes' tram ride away.
Our spacious, bright and quiet apartment is located in the 18th district, in a very green neigbourhood. The building from 1931 was desigend by Ferdinand Glaser, the same architect who designed the Central Bank of the Republic of Austria in the early 1920s, in similar style and with references to Jugendstil.
The apartment is on the 2nd (= top) floor. Please note, currently there is no elevator.
Our apartment comprises
- entrance hall
- a spacious living/dining room with open kitchen and direct access to
- a sunny patio, facing south-east;
- 3 bedrooms
-- 1 master bedroom (double bed 180x200 cm) with en-suite bathroom,
-- children's bedroom 1 (sofa bed 140x200 cm), and
-- children's bedroom 2 (loft bed 90x200 cm with additional mattress beneath);
- 2 bathrooms
-- 1 bathroom (en-suite to the master bedroom) with bath, double-basins and toilet,
-- 1 bathroom with shower and single wash basin, next to chilodren's bedrooms,
-- 1 extra toilet.
There is also a shared garden, offering a safe area for kids to play with swings, slide and sandpit. Our neighbours are friendly and helpful.
Vienna has an excellent transportation system, easy to navigate and safe. Vienna is also well connected by train (from and to all directions) and an international airport. It is easy to reach other major Austrian and international cities such as
Linz (1,25 hours by train)
Salzburg (2,5 hours),
Graz (2,5 hours),
Innsbruck (4 hours by highspeed Railjet),
Bratislava (1 hour by train or speed boat),
Budapest (2,5 hours by train),
Prague (4 hours), or
Venice (Italy).
Places you have to visit :) (all reachable easily by public transport)
-"Wachau" with its medieval towns, vine-yards and great views of the Danube (1 hour by train)
-Vienna Alps for great scenery and walking (Schneeberg, Semmering, Rax, Hohe Wand etc.), (about 1 to 1,5 hours)
-"Neusiedlersee" (big lake in Burgenland, famous for sailing, cycling and winery) (1 hour to Neusiedl/See)
- "Salzkammergut" lake district (3 hours)
Of course there are many more options, depending on your preferences- do not hesitate to ask for advice!

Altenberg bei Linz, Austria
AT09014The apartment was cozy and comfortable. We liked the location towards the outskirts of Vienna and near the Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens, a great spot for early morning runs and walks. We also had several good public transportation connections to the center of the city (tram, bus, S-Bahn) very close by. Our communication with Julia and Matthias worked very well.
