Lovely house north of Toronto, Ontario,....heading into cottage country.
Hello, we are Neil and Ellen. We live in a small town between a major city and the “great outdoors”! Our home is a lovely two storey, 4 bedroom home in the centre of town. The main bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite with a shower. We have 2 bedrooms with queen beds, and 1 bedroom (an office) with a double pull out bed. There is also another 4 piece bathroom on this floor. On the main floor we have living, dining, family rooms as well as kitchen, eating area, laundry and a two piece bathroom. There is also a sunroom off the kitchen which we pretty much live in during the summer months. We have a charming back garden that backs on to a large municipal park which has a splash pad, playground equipment, baseball diamond, 4 tennis courts, a pavilion and lots of green space. Our home iso on a cul de sac. One of our 3 sons lives about 10 minutes away with his wife and 3 daughters. So many places to go from our house.....Toronto, capital of Ontario; Ottawa,...capital of Canada; Niagara Falls,.... a wonder of the world; Canada’s Wonderland...Canada’s largest theme park; Algonquin Park...a huge wilderness park with many lakes and resorts; Wasaga Beach, ....Canada’s longest fresh water beach.
We will also exchange our 5 seater car with you.

Neighborhood
About the neighborhood
Our town is a farming community as well as a commuter town. We have the Holland Marsh which is over 200 farms in one area that provides most of the produce for Southern Ontario and upper state New York. The farms are unique as there isn’t a fence between any of them. One would think it was one big farm.
Our town of 30,000 people has a relatively new library and cultural centre as well as a recreational complex with 3 pools and 2 skating rinks (open all year round). We have many restaurants and plenty of shopping in our town and also a public golf course at the edge of town. We have bus and train service to Toronto several times a day. 10 minutes away is a city of 100,000 where there is a large shopping mall and many more restaurants and services.
North of us is the Muskoka cottage region....0ver 1600 beautiful lakes and rugged countryside. We have beaches near us, one 20 minutes, one 30 minutes and the best is Wasaga Beach which is the longest fresh water beach in Canada. Further north is Algonquin Park which is famous for it’s wilderness beauty. Lots of moose to see here!
To our south is Toronto, which is our provincial capital. It is the cultural, economic, sports and entertainment centre of Ontario. There are many attractions, including Canada’s largest theme park (Canada’s Wonderland), water parks, professional sports, theatre, museums, art galleries, the CN tower (one of the tallest buildings in the world), aquarium, wonderful shopping and thousands of restaurants. There is professional baseball, soccer, football, basketball through the summer and fall months. As well we have first class live theatre, opera, symphony and ballet venues in Toronto.

We had a lovely time in Olga and Fidel’s condo in Calella. They met us at the airport and took us straight to the condo. Our contact with Olga was great all through the process…..we chatted several times before the exchange and during each of our respective stays. They went out of their way to make our stay in Spain very special.
Una maravillosa casa, una parte de Canadá estupenda y unos maravillosos anfitriones a los que pudimos conocer personalmente y nos gustó mucho conocerlos y seguimos en contacto.
Amables, detallistas, acogedores, alegres , encantadores. Una relación estupenda.
Our dealings with our hosts was perfect. We wrote and What’s Apped during the course of 2 years. (Covid) We met our hosts and spent some time with them prior to them coming to our home. Lovely people who couldn’t do enough for us.

We have 3 sons who are all married and have given us 6 lovely grandchildren. We get a huge amount of enjoyment from these “little people”! One of our sons lives very close to our house and would be around to help out with anything during your holiday.
